We supported the Franklin and Fairfield County Annual Veterans Stand Down which in 2018 provided over 650 Veterans with Free Foods, Clothing (Including Rocky Boots), Medical/Dental Screening, Legal Screening, Haircuts, Employment and College Assistance. Over 76 Veterans Services Organizations were involved. We provided both financial and volunteer support.
Central Ohio Veterans Stand Down – October 20 2021 Status Update
The Stand Down Planning Committee is concerned we cannot meet the COVID Re- quirements of the Convention Center. we have, therefore, developed an alternative plan to help Veterans – Our Primary Mission. We are going to distribute Duffle Bags filled with material to help Veterans with health and living needs.
The attached flyer explains the project CLICK HERE. We need to raise funds to support the effort. The fundraising information on the flyer explains the Colum- bus Wide strategy
HOWEVER, we are pursuing our MOAA approach. First, we apply to USAA for an an- nual contribution of $300. Due to the cancellation last year we have two years of contri- bution on hand – $600. Our internal process is to have fundraising at Monthly Luncheons to enhance our MOAA contribution to the Central Ohio Veterans stand Down project
We initiated our approach at the 6/11 Luncheon and raised over $100. Thanks to those who contributed!!!! We have two more luncheons – 7/9 and 8/13 – to complete the process.
